Experience “la dolce vita” in the beautiful Tuscan Hills, a destination that conjures dreams of extraordinary art and culture, quaint villages, sumptuous food, tasty wine, idyllic landscapes and so much more. Soak up the sun, unplug from your hectic daily life and reconnect to your heart as you participate in daily yoga and meditation practices suitable for all levels.

During this seven-day retreat, we will have plenty of time to attune to the environment and savor the sensory feast of Italy as we explore the lush grounds of the 800-year-old villa that will serve as our home for the week. You will have options to taste the local wines and learn to cook in the Tuscan style, or to pamper yourself with a massage. We’ll take a day trip to Siena, one of Italy’s most beautiful medieval cities were twice a year the famous “Palio,” a horse race around the central Piazzo, is run, and we’ll do it all while forging beautiful connections and friendships with like-minded travelers.

Our morning yoga practices will emphasize mindful vinyasa-style movements with modification suggestions to customize the shapes to your individual needs. The afternoon sessions will be slow and grounded yin, restorative or gentle hatha practices. All activities are optional so that you can craft the perfect experience for yourself

Sheila is an ERYT 500 and YACEP teacher certified through Yoga Alliance. She trained at Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health and has been practicing and teaching for more than 20 years. She has been the founder and sole owner of Johns Creek Yoga, north of Atlanta, GA since 2012, and she owns Blue Lotus Yoga Online, a comprehensive platform for asana classes, meditation, and continuing education. Sheila previously owned Duluth Yoga Center (2018-2020). In 2015 she developed and curated The Sweet Tea Yoga Festival in Alpharetta, GA, and she is the Yoga Editor for Natural Awakenings Atlanta Magazine. Sheila holds additional certifications in Yin Yoga, Thai Yoga, Bodywork, and Yoga Nidra and has trained with dozens of internationally known yoga teachers. In addition to daily classes at both studios, Sheila facilitates Yoga Teacher Training at both the 200 and 300-hour levels. She has been hosting retreats and workshops both locally and internationally for 10 years. As a former Professor of American literature, she loves to explore the intersection between philosophy, poetry, religion, nature, and yoga and often brings that synthesis into her classes. She continues to take advantage of every opportunity to train and learn and will forever consider herself a student of this ancient and beautiful practice.
