Recenter yourself with tropical beaches, luxurious bungalows, and strong-yet-accessible yoga. Desirae Penton, founder of Dragon Yoga, will lead us on a week of yoga and exploration that will transform your practice and re-energize your soul. When we’re on our mats, we’ll push ourselves—safely—to try new postures and strengthen our foundations. And when we’re off our mats, we’ll enjoy everything Santa Teresa offers: gorgeous beaches where we embrace the sun and water, relaxing spas to refresh us, local food to nourish our bodies, and excursions to fill us with adventure and wonder. Best of all, we’ll find each other: a group of humans ready to flow together and connect with one another as we share this week in paradise.
We’ll spend our days close to nature: we’ll practice yoga in a shaded, open-air studio next to the breezy beach. Between freshly-prepared meals, we’ll have the chance to hike through the jungles to see wildlife and waterfalls, or fly through the forest on ziplines. Or enjoy the warm ocean by surfing or snorkeling. Or see the countryside on horseback. At night, we’ll rest in tranquil beachfront bungalows and suites.
Desirae’s greatest passion is to help students discover their strengths. On this retreat, her goal is for each student to accomplish something they believed was out of reach. When we overcome challenges on our mat, we are empowered to do the same in the rest of our lives.
DESIRAE PENTON
Desirae has taught yoga since 2008, and today she leads Dragon Yoga—Oklahoma City’s first pay-what-you-can yoga studio. Desirae has trained for over 1,000 hours in a variety of schools, including Iyengar and Anusara. She began practicing yoga over 20 years ago to heal and prevent sports injuries. Since then, Desirae has developed a style that is strong, safe, and focused on correct alignment to empower students both on and off their mats.
She is passionate about breaking down barriers and expanding our yoga community. She loves to share her experience with as many people as possible through classes, workshops, retreats, and training new teachers. Yoga may look like alignment and movement, but it is fundamentally about growth, compassion, community, and love.
