Overview

It is undoubtedly one of the most enticing ways to travel the Aegean Sea and the Greek Archipelago. A yoga holiday on board of a sailing yacht exploring bays with crystal clear water immersed ancient cities and archaeological sites from old civilisations. Just to name a few of the impressions that make your days onboard into a most exciting experience.

I invite you to join this exceptional yoga retreat in September 2019. The retreat is specifically designed to help you to connect with yourself, relax, and recharge. With daily yoga for all levels, guided meditations, mindfulness practices, hikes and excursions, delicious meals, and plenty of time to relax, this week will be a life-changing experience.

September 28th, 2019

Arrival at Bodrum. The yacht is located in Marina Gökova and boarding is possible from noon. You set the anchor at 4:00 p.m. and drive to Kilisebükü and anchor for the night in a bay.

September 29th, 2019

The next stop is Kos, and on our way, we make a stopover halfway. If you want, you can immerse yourself in the history of the Aegean and take part in a hike to the history of Halicarnassus. Then we are on to Kos. We anchor in the main harbour, right next to the fortress walls. The old city of Kos is worth a walk after dinner.

September 30th, 2019

The ship leaves early in the morning to the island of Giali. The crystal clear water invites you to swim after the yoga session before we continue to the volcanic island of Nisyros. A guided hike to the volcano crater is possible. In the evening, we practice yoga in the courtyard of an Orthodox chapel with great views over the island, and then we meet before dinner for a sundowner on the waterfront promenade in the centre of the village. Amazing sunset!

October 1st, 2019

After yoga, the journey continues to Tilos. If the weather permits, the crew sets sail. We anchor in a bay near Tilos. You decide how you want to spend the day. In the late afternoon, the ship changes berth again and anchors near a small fishing port. In the evening, we practice yoga on board or in the yard of a small Orthodox chapel nearby.

October 2nd, 2019

On the fifth day of our cruise, Pedi Symi awaits you. The picturesque island invites you for a walk and maybe some shopping. Those who wish can take part in an excursion by bus to the famous Panormitis Monastery.

October 3rd, 2019

At 2:00 p.m., we clear the anchor again and drive via Datça to Knidos. We stay for the night in the ancient trading port of Knidos.

October 4th, 2019

Let’s welcome the sun with yoga in the ancient archaeological sites on the ruins of the Demeter temple. After breakfast, you can join a coastal walk along with the archaeological sites. Then we head back to Bodrum in the Marina Gökova. On the way, we make a stop for a swim. We celebrate our last evening together with an authentic local dinner at a restaurant by the sea.

During the trip, you stay on board of a Gulet sailing yacht. Here are some specifications:

Accommodation

During the trip, you will stay seven nights aboard the yacht. The yacht provides six cabins and can choose between staying in a single or double cabin. The boat is equipped with modern navigation tools and all safety utilities.

All cabins are equipped with twin beds or two single beds, a wardrobe, storage space, shelves, and a space for your suitcase under the bed. Each cabin has its own WC and shower.

The crew (captain, chef, skipper) will do everything they can, to make your stay onboard into a memorable experience. During the trip, you can just relax and enjoy the landscapes or the company of your fellow travellers. Or why not, bring your ongoing reading material to let your mind and stories flow with the wind. The crew will prepare all your meals and perform daily cleaning of your facilities so that you can enjoy the comfort.

Menu

The chef on board will provide delicious vegetarian and vegan Mediterranean dishes and snacks. The package includes brunch, afternoon snack, and dinner. You can look forward to enjoying healthy, fresh, and delicious meals with seasonal vegetables and local fruits.

My fierce and compassionate dedication to yoga inspires and holds space for participants to journey deeper into the body, heart, mind, and spirit than they ever could have imagined. I am ever formulating and evolving a meaningful yoga curriculum to serve yoga enthusiasts. For me, the journey to finding peace and learning how to channel my inner energy better using yoga started about 20 years ago. At first, I turned to yoga because I had a back injury. However, I discovered quite quickly that much more than fitness and agility, yoga can calm the mind, provide more stability in times of difficult life situations, and also strengthen the mind. It was an amazing and fulfilling experience, one that is worth having again and again. So, I decided to teach people how to have this same spirit, yet inexpressible experience, too. Since then, I have been consistently practising yoga. I did my official yoga teacher training four years ago with Jordan Bloom, and have practised with many experienced teachers from different parts of the world.

I believe that yoga goes beyond being just mental, physical, and spiritual exercise. Yoga is a way of life. It is a philosophy; a philosophy that will give you a better perspective to life generally.

I hope to get a one week opportunity on the sailing ship yoga retreat to work with participants - teaching them to let go, to breathe deeply and recharge their batteries and to reconnect with their inner selves. Of course, the winds, the waves and the power of the Aegean creates the ideal setting for such an experience; where you can throw your everyday worries behind and have a real connection with your true self.
