Reset, refocus, and learn how to access the joy that lies within. In our everyday lives, it is easy to fill the calendar to the max and stretch our limits. When life gets stressful, it is easy to forget how to create our own self-care rituals. This retreat has been designed to bring awareness to the quality of thoughts, habits in body movement and posture, and the overflowing of our calendars. During your seven days stay you will be encouraged to slow down, breathe deep, connect with nature, and move mindfully. All levels of yoga are welcome. Outside of daily yoga practice and meditation, you will have the opportunity to connect with the lush rainforest and beaches on the Costa Rican Coast. Become more mindful of the simple pleasures of life and find joy within yourself.

Studies are now showing that cultivating gratitude actually makes you happy – and being happy cultivates wellness! Developing these habits is often easier when we step outside of our norm. The beauty of Costa Rica will inspire a shift you can bring home with you.

Playa Uvita

Beautiful, eco-friendly accommodations situated amidst acres of lush gardens, hiking trails, and a secluded jungle trail leading to Playa Uvita, a beautiful beach (only a 15-minute walk). The atmosphere of the retreat center is simple, healthy, and relaxed. Rooms are single or double occupancy. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are prepared daily and include healthy vegetarian options along with fish and/or chicken. The food is organic when available and prepared with nourishing ingredients. Gorgeous bungalow-style accommodations all with huge ocean views, where you can see Ballena National Marine Park, the rainforest, and much more. All of the rooms are made from reforested wood from our trees planted on the same land 20 years ago. The architecture includes local craftsmanship using wood, stone, shell, and sand.

Instructors

JENIFER BREWER

Jennifer is a Yoga Alliance registered E-RYT 500. She received her 200-hr certification from Asheville Community Yoga, with an emphasis on seva; and her 500-hr certification from Subtle Yoga in Charlotte NC with an emphasis on Yoga Therapy. Jennifer found transformation of her own anger and depression through yoga and uses her teaching to provide insight into the always present option of choice. Her teaching combines subtle physical postures, breath awareness and sense of humor to create a deeper understanding of the mind-body connection. Her classes aim to take this understanding and create empowerment off the mat. Jennifer currently lives in Hilton Head, SC where she teaches a variety of vinyasa, chair, beach, and restorative classes and workshops. She first visited Costa Rica in 2018 and it changed her life. She looks forward to sharing the warmth of the people, the realness of the food and the richness of a slower pace.
