Petta reddast, is an Icelandic phrase that embodies embracing the moment and looking forward with certainty that all will work out in the end. This is the perfect theme for our retreat: trust that all will be okay in the end and embrace the moment! We open-heartedly invite you to join us as we Explore, Restore and Find Harmony in the Land of Fire and Ice.
Catie and Christine lead yoga in many styles. Catie’s background is power vinyasa, although with almost two decades of yoga teaching and lifelong learning there are many modalities incorporated into each class. Christine’s yoga life started as a children’s yoga educator, but over the past few years has taken a trauma-sensitive approach for both adults and children – especially over the last year of living life during a pandemic. Although our individual yoga journeys have been different, our paths have led us to the same place: Yoga is a lifestyle that everyone could and should benefit from.Iceland has been a bucket list item for years for the two of us, and we know there are many other people who have also dreamt of visiting this truly awe-inspiring country! Northern Lights, outdoor adventure, natural wonders, breathtaking scenery, and soul searching are all coming together for the trip of a lifetime. We will immerse ourselves body, mind, and spirit in this magical land as we practice, meditate, and explore all the beauty Iceland has to offer. So much is included in this all-inclusive retreat, but there are also many options to add on and customize as you wish. We are excited to have this opportunity to offer this unforgettable experience to our yoga community. Join us for an unforgettable week exploring Iceland, creating memories, and transforming ourselves.
We are both inspired by yogis who share the love with folks on and off the mat – we know that yoga doesn’t just happen in the studio and it isn’t just a physical practice. Yoga is in the everyday mindful moments we are able to grasp hold of, a way to get into our bodies and listen to what it has to tell us, a practice we can call on when we need to remind ourselves who we are, and a way of showing up in the world.
Throughout our week-long retreat, you can expect to enjoy energizing morning flows, soothing evening practices, meditations while staring up at the sky, outdoor sequences to ground us in nature, in addition to walking meditations, invigorating breathwork, and mindfulness practices.
Every guest will have also have opportunities to participate in complementary modalities such as Reiki, Nidra, Myofascial Release (MFR), Tapping (EFT), and so much more.
