You have been working hard and consistently month after month to get your body ready for travel, adventure, and doing what your heart desires. Join Andrea in the rainforest of Costa Rica for a week of yoga, hiking, meditation, and nature walk. Every day will include an open-air yoga practice, tailored to further nourish your vibrant mid-life body, as well as options for other movement adventures. Walk in nature, swim in the pool, and then eat delicious healthy meals, reflect and restore.
Feel yourself slowly unwind, breathe more deeply and get excited about practicing yoga in a community once again. With plenty of free time, you will have the choice to experience whatever excites you about Costa Rica. Go on a Chocolate Tour and make the “Drink of the Gods”, or grab your camera and find toucans on the Tropical Birding Tour. You may wish to experience the rainforest with a hike on the Cabalonga trail, or for those who want to venture further out, sign up for the Arenal Volcano and natural history tour, go kayaking, mountain biking, horseback riding or find your own special excursion.
This retreat includes two daily movement classes. One class takes place in the morning, either just before or just after breakfast. You will then have free time to explore, relax, or take part in optional add-on activities. We have one Karma Yoga Service Project planned as well. Lunch will take place during this free time, and you will have the opportunity to check out the local offerings as you desire. The second class will be offered in a more workshop-style, free form manner to work on specific yoga poses, in order to get the feedback on your form you have been craving all year. There will be open time for questions, and we will also make time for meditation.

She combines her love of anatomy and yoga to address challenges by working with the whole body, including breath, meditation, strengthening, and cardiovascular exercise (especially walking and hiking). She loves to take away the barriers that hold you back from exploring new ways of moving to allow for more joy by getting outside into nature.
Andrea lives in northern Vermont with her husband and her two college-aged sons. She does not plan to slow down as she stays active in her 50’s, and has many plans to do active travel retreats again and again in her future.
