Sarvaguna Yoga welcomes you to a basic training course for those who are aspired to become professional yoga teachers. No prerequisite or qualification is required to enrol in this course. Upon completion of the course, you will be able to teach yoga in different settings and different countries. The course framework designed by Yoga Alliance will provide you with basic and profound knowledge and skills to educate and inspire others with yoga.
Sarvaguna Yoga is a Yoga Alliance Registered School, offers 200 & 300/500 hour Yoga Teacher Training Courses(YTTC), Meditation TTC in Goa & Himalayas, India. Students Certified by us are eligible to register with Yoga Alliance as RYT 200/500 (Registered Yoga Teacher).
This yoga teacher training will take place in Upper Bhagsunag area in Dharamshala in the state of Himachal Pradesh, India.
Dharamshala is located in the North Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. Nestled below the mighty snow-clad peaks of the beautiful Himalayan Dhauladhar mountain range, it is a wonderful location with an abundance of natural beauty and spiritual diversity. Dharamshala is the spiritual headquarters of Buddhists all over the World.
It is the home for H.H Dalai Lama and the centre for Tibetan government in exile. H.H.Dalai Lama has been living here along with his followers since 1959. His presence and the Tibetan population has made Dharamshala a popular destination for Indian and foreign tourists, including students studying Tibetan culture.
Dharamshala and Mcleodgunj are twin towns located at lower and upper areas of that point of Himalayan Mountain range. Dharamshala is mainly populated by Locals. Mcleodganj is the abode of the H.H. Dalai Lama. Many Tibetans have their permanent settlements in this town and leading a peaceful life.
Bhagsunag and Dharmakot are twin beautiful hamlets located two kilometres away from Mcleodganj town. These two villages are relatively calm and quiet and give a conducive atmosphere for yoga and meditation practices. Hence, yoga and meditation learners chose to come here for their training.
During the training, you will stay in single or shared deluxe rooms with hot shower and wifi. Check-in time is midday and checkout is 10 am.
This 200-hour teacher training course is a basic training program for aspiring yoga teachers looking for their first-level certification or those looking to build upon their existing foundations. You are invited to join this extensive, intensive, and nourishing teacher training course. In this course, you will learn the history of yoga and its philosophy, human physiology, anatomy, teaching methodology, adjustments, and other nuances of teaching yoga. You will earn a certification upon completion of the course, with which you can register with Yoga Alliance as a registered yoga teacher at the RYT- 200 level.
Course composition and framework
The following are the standards and structure of the course, as designed by Yoga Alliance under five educational categories:
One hundred hours of techniques, training and practice. This category includes asanas, pranayama, kriya, chanting, mantras, meditation, and other traditional yoga techniques. These hours are a mix of analytical training in how to teach and practice the techniques, and guided practice of the methods themselves
Twenty-five hours of teaching methodology. This category includes principles of demonstration, observation, assisting and correcting, instruction, teaching styles, qualities of a teacher, the student’s process of learning, and business aspects of teaching yoga.
Twenty hours of anatomy and physiology. This category includes both human physical anatomy and physiology (bodily systems, organs, and so on) and energy anatomy and physiology (chakras, nadis, and so on). It is necessary to include both the study of the subject and application of its principles to yoga practice to understand the benefits, contraindications, healthy movement patterns, and so on, of yoga.
Thirty hours of studying yoga philosophy, yoga lifestyle, and ethics for yoga teachers.
10 hours of practicum. This includes practice teaching, receiving feedback, observing others teaching, and receiving and giving feedback. This section also includes assisting students while others are teaching
This 200-hour yoga teacher training course meets and exceeds the standards defined by the Yoga Alliance. Sarvaguna Yoga has enhanced the program with other activities, Mantra yoga - the science of sound vibrations and its role in spiritual practices, Buddhi yoga - yogic cognitive therapy, yogic personality theory - the comparative study of yogic and modern psychology.

Dr Keshava, born and raised in a south Indian spiritual family, where he had a strong foundation of Spirituality and Yoga, at an early age. Propelled by this early spiritual foundation and highly inspired by the teachings of enlightened masters, he started to pursue the study of Sanskrit, yoga and philosophy. Later he found his Spiritual Master, a distinguished teacher of Vedanta, H.H.Swamy Dayanandaji of Himalayas and underwent a systematic and consisting training in his Rishikesh monastery for 5 years. He studied Sanskrit, the Upanishads, the Bhagavad Gita- the original sourcebook of yoga and philosophy, under the guidance of swami Dayanandaji and his senior disciples.
He also had an opportunity to study the Yogic mysticism under the tutelage of Himalayan spiritual Master Swami. Veda Bharati at Rishikesh and got initiated into Meditation and Mystic tradition. Keshava later continued his academic pursuit and earned his M.Sc. and PhD in Modern psychology. He presented his Doctoral thesis on Emotional Intelligence, Spiritual Intelligence and their interactive effect. He continued his Sanskrit study further and earned his M.A in Sanskrit and also got an M.A Degree in Advaita Vedanta philosophy. He also obtained his M.Sc. Degree in Yoga and natural healing.
Keshava has been teaching Yoga philosophy, Meditation and Pranayama, therapeutic yoga, Principle teachings of original Tantra, Sanskrit language and poetry, and Vedic Mantra Chanting in various academic settings and yoga teacher training centres. He taught more than 100 Yoga Teacher Training and Meditation Teacher Training courses for the seekers across the globe and acquired over 3000 Hours of teaching experience.
He is committed to bringing a perfect blend of Ancient yogic spiritual wisdom, Advaita Vedanta and Modern scientific principles of Psychology and Quantum physics in his teachings, in order to bring peace and harmony in the modern society.
Apart from being a Psychologist and spiritual therapist, Keshava is also a strong exponent of alternative healing and ancient energy channelling techniques. He sincerely practices and teaches Reiki and Pranic healing. He is a certified master healer in Dr Usui system of Reiki healing. Keshava lives a monastic life, practising and teaching Yoga, Meditation and spirituality, in groups settings and as well as in private one to one sessions.
